“The Necessity of Vision #15”
I think of the steps of a vision in the following way: Sense it. See it. Say it. Seize it. The stages flow into each other because they are spiritual and mental processes, so they don’t have clear borders. However, they help recognize how a vision is developed and dispersed.
Sense it = The Internalization Stage. The vision is only something that is thought about. There is no action other than a desire fertilized by repetitive thoughts like “what if” and “How can.” That is where the vision holder begins to sense there is a possibility, even if it seems impossible. They sense within themselves things can change for the positive. They sense a solution to a problem. They sense a better “day” or better way. They hear a small voice within them that others are ignoring or don’t hear.
See it = Conceptualization Stage. The vision begins to take on and have form. As mentioned previously, details are added to some degree. Maybe it is planned on paper or mentally processed, but it becomes more realistic to the vision holder. It intensifies as it is emotionalized in faith and positive emotions.
Say it = Manifestation Stage. The vision is now made known. It is cast to others by the vision holder explaining the vision and why it is. That is a dangerous stage! If the vision holder does it prematurely, those who it is shared with can sabotage it. They can sow seeds of doubt, so be sure it is firmly Internalized and Conceptualized. Most vision holders get excited about what they are “Seeing” and Sensing, so they are eager to share it, but this can destroy the still-developing life. It needs time to incubate before it is exposed to the negative influences of doubters.
Seize it = Materialization Stage. The vision is now beginning to become physical. Physical, tangible steps are being undertaken, no matter how small. If it requires a team, they are led to take action. The “to-do” list is up, and the checking off begins. Action is being taken daily to turn what was once only sensed into a reality. It requires tremendous physical energy and effort to construct what was once only a concept. However, many do not realize that it also continues to take a tremendous amount of mental and spiritual energy to materialize the vision. Creative energy uses all our resources as creative beings, including our faith!
